What is Digital Phone Service?
|
|
OnlineNW Digital Phone Service (or Voice over IP or VoIP) refers to telephone service that is transmitted via the Internet instead of a traditional copper land-line.

Can I get a new telephone number?
|
|
Yes. New numbers are local to McMinnville, Oregon. There is a $15.00 activation fee associated with new service activation. New numbers will have a (503) 687 prefix.
|
|
Is there an installation fee?
|
|
Depending on your internet access platform, some accounts will require a $35.00 installation fee. This will be communicated during the sales process prior to any services being ordered, i.e. you will have an opportunity to reject service if you choose not to pay the fee.

Can I keep my existing telephone number?
|
|
Yes, OnlineNW has established agreements, with multiple telephone providers, that allow for "Number Porting". This process transfers an existing number, from the current provider, to OnlineNW.
There will be a $15.00 activation fee as well as a $15.00 porting fee involved with porting an existing number.
The amount of time, to port an existing number, will vary according to the current phone service provider’s policy.

Once I place an order, How long until the service is ready for use?
|
|
Please allow up to 2 days for new number orders.
If you are transferring an existing telephone number, it will be dependent on your current telephone provider. In some cases we can set up temporary numbers that will work at your location until the port is complete. Talk to our sales staff to work out a solution that fits you best.

What Phone companies can OnlineNW currently port numbers from?
|
|
Currently, OnlineNW can port phone numbers from the following companies:
* Frontier (formerly Verizon)
* Verizon Wireless
* Integra Telecom
* Comcast
* 360 Networks
* T-Mobile
* Group Six Communications
* OnlineNW is currently working to establish agreements with additional providers. Please contact our sales department for the most current updates.

Why is E-911 Important?
|
|
E-911 contains the database that provides a physical location, to the local dispatch center, when 911 is dialed. For this reason, correct (up to date), addresses are extremely important. Please notify OnlineNW immediately with address changes.

How can I tell if I have a new voice mail?
|
|
Voice mail indicators:
* Pick up the line and hear a stutter before the dial-tone begins.
* The "Phone" light on the ATA will blink.
* Login into the web portal and it will show what new (and old) voice messages that are in the system. (In addition, the web portal can be setup to e-mail notifications whenever there is a new voice message.)

Are there any limitations to OnlineNW Digital Phone service?
|
|
Currently, OnlineNW Digital Phone Service works exclusively, in conjunction, with our high-speed services. In some cases bundled packages are available. Please contact our sales department for details.
OnlineNW Digital Phone Service, like all VoIP technology, is dependent on an Internet connection to function. Therefore, if the accompanied Internet connection is idle then phone service will also be unusable until the Internet connection is restored.
