Deleting Identities
From the File menu
-Select Switch Identity.

In the Switch Identities window
-Click Manage Identities.

In the Manage Identities window
-Select the identity you would like to delete
-Click Remove.

In the Warning window
-Click Delete to confirm that you wish to delete the selected identity

In the Manage Identities window
-Click Close

In the Switch Identities window
-Click OK.

Switching Identities

Open Outlook Express
From the File menu
-select Switch Identity.

In the Switch Identities window
-Select the identity you want.
-Click OK.

The program will close and open in the Identity you chose.

Configuring Outlook Express for Multiple Identities

If you need to share your computer with someone else or if you need to use your computer to check e-mail for two different accounts (e.g., checking your UD e-mail and checking your e-mail at an off-campus ISP), you will find it easier to set up Outlook Express to use multiple identities.

Creating a new identity
-Open Outlook Express as you ordinarily would.
-From the File menu, select Switch Identity.
In the Switch Identities window
-Click Manage Identities. **By default, if you have been using Outlook Express with only one identity, you will see an identity named Main Identity listed here. If you have not already changed this to something more meaningful, follow these steps:


In the Manage Identities window
-highlight Main Identity and click Properties.

In the Identity Properties window
-type the name, then click OK.


To create a new identity
In the Manage Identities window
-click New.
-Type a discriptive name in the New Identity window.
-Click OK.


In the Identity Added window
-click Yes to switch to your new identity.
-Configure the E-mail account for this new identity

This is a common problem with forwarded HTML messages.

To resolve it click on the menu Tools
-Then Options
-Select the Send tab (There you will see Mail Sending Format and it should be set to HTML.)
-Click on the HTML settings button
-Make sure that "Send pictures with messages" is checked.

This message is generated when a security option in Outlook Express (OE) 6.0 has been enabled. That option denies access to email attachments that could be malicious.

Open Outlook Express
-Click on Tools
-Click on Options
When Box comes up
-click on Security Tab
-uncheck setting that says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."

-Click OK

Someone may have sent you an email that is too big for your dial-up connection to receive. You can log into Webmail to review and delete the message, or just give us a call and we can delete it for you.

To prevent spammers from using our mail server to send out thier SPAM, it is now required that the Outgoing Mail Server Setting in your e-mail program is set to authenticate that it is a valid e-mail address before it will allow a message to be sent.

Outlook Express
-Click Tools
-Click Accounts
-Click on the Mail Tab
- Select e-mail account
-Click on Properties Button
-Click on Servers Tab
-Put a check next to where it says My server requires authentication
-Click Apply
-Click OK

you should now be able to send mail

-Click E-mail Accounts
-Select View or Change existing e-mail accounts
-Click Next
-Select E-mail Account

-Click More Settings Button
-Click Outgoing Server Tab
-Put a check next to where it says My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
-Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected
-Click OK
-Click Next
-Click Finish

you should now be able to send mail
